Cast Aluminum Street Lights
Restoration of the Hunter Street Bridge in Peterborough, Ontario called for a return of the cast lights that were once on the tall cement pillars along the bridge. The lights had long disappeared and there were no drawings.
To overcome these problems, the public was asked for old photographs that might help. Photos soon came in and helped in the production of new drawings and patterns. The scale of the side lights had to be increased to meet today’s lighting standards.
New patterns were made and complex sand-casting production followed.
The lights are now up and are being enjoyed by users of the bridge.
