Cast Bronze Commemorative Marker
To commemorate the residential school tragedy, the Assembly of First Nations sought to produce a marker for communities across Canada. Five native artists from across the country came together and designed a unique circular marker.
Alloy Foundry was honoured to be chosen to produce the marker which took the shape of a large bronze ring and stick. The ring with decorative symbols inside and outside.
Sand casting such a design was a challenge. Imaginative pattern work and precise casting, however, allowed the project to be realized.
